• We would like to announce that Bill Maxey has joined Republic Refrigeration as a regional sales engineer. Bill will be working out of our Hollister, MO. office as a regional sales engineer. Bill, is a graduate of the University of Utah, with a degree in mechanical engineering (BSME). He has 44 years’ experience in Industrial Refrigeration. During his career he has work as a design engineer, project engineer, and corporate officer for a compressor company as well as owing his own company, He is a member of IIAR, and has served on the IIAR piping and code committees.
• Gary Vierling, PE, is a graduate of the University of Minnesota, IT, with a degree in mechanical engineering( BSME). He has 42 years’ experience in HVAC and Industrial Refrigeration. Gary is a registered engineer in the States of Florida, Iowa, Minnesota, New Mexico, and Wisconsin. He is a member of ASHRAE, IIAR, and RETA; and holds a position on the IIAR piping committee.
• Walter Teeter was nominated and elected to the Board of Director’s of the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR) at their annual business meeting in Orlando this morning. I know that we are all proud of Walter and congratulate him for receiving this honor.
• The biggest cheese in the business, Leprino Foods, is expanding its considerable Colorado footprint with a new mozzarella plant. Often reluctant to say much publicly, the low-profile Denver-based company is raising its stature with plans for a $270 million factory in Greeley. Read More
• Northeast Foods of Baltimore, a commercial bakery owned by the Paterakis and Tsakalos families of Maryland, plans to build a $25.4 million bakery in Clayton, N.C.
• US Foodservice broke ground recently for an expansion of its Port Orange FL division’s food distribution center to 409,000 square feet to support growth of the company’s central Florida distribution business. Read More

• Banks Thomas joins the Republic Refrigeration team with over 15 years of experience in industrial refrigeration design/build contracting with USDA and FDA inspected food processing, Bakery and Dairy facilities and cold storage.
• Jim Smotherman joins the Republic Refrigeration team with 23 years of experience in industrial refrigeration design/ build contracting with USDA and FDA inspected food processing facilities and cold storage facilities. Experience includes sales, project management, project development, system design, parts replacement and installations.
